This site is dedicated to the memory of my mom, Mable Rey. She lost her battle to breast cancer on July 23, 2012. I struggled with what this would be about, how to make it a true memorial. She was so much more than breast cancer. Aside from it taking her from us way too early, it was somewhat of a blip on her life’s radar. She called it the “breast thing” for so long. Maybe her refusal to give it an identifier held it at bay so long, or maybe her lack of confronting it head on let it eventually win her physical body over. I still refuse to believe it beat her mentally- I just think her body was tired of fighting. Her spirit was ready for bigger and better things!

This site is about Mable! Though it is about breast cancer awareness and supporting research to eradicate breast cancer, it is also about mental, physical, and spiritual health and wellbeing; all of which are elements that were important to my Mom. “If my experience can help someone, then I want to help”. That’s what she told me on many occassions. Well Mommy, here’s hoping your wish comes true.
